As previously blogged in my first trip to Berlin in February 2013, we visited this beautiful city again in December 2013 for the Christmas Markets. This time around we managed to pack in all the things we didn't get a chance to do the first time around. Which were the Reichstag, TV Tower, Holocaust Memorial Museum, Charlottenburg Palace and Potsdam. We then visited as many of the Christmas Markets we possibly could. The views of Berlin from both the TV Tower and The Reichstag were quite beautiful and we were lucky to get clear skies the days we went up each of them.
We also went back to Brandenburg Gate, Fassbender and Rausch (needed to stock up on more chocolate of course) and back to the best steak house ever Block House.
As it was cold, maybe not as cold as it was when we visited in February but still cold, we made the most of warming up with hot drinks. Seeing as there are coffee shops all over the place it was perfect. I really took to Gingerbread Hot Chocolate whilst we were over there. Now I am fond of gingerbread but it really made it feel more Christmassy.
The city is even more beautiful when lit up with all the Christmas lights. The Christmas Markets were fun and pretty and the stalls have lots of toys, home-made items, sweets, chocolates, cakes, other food items, mulled wine, punch, Christmas decorations and much much more. Each market we went to had a different theme set around it, which made them even more interesting.
I would never say no to visiting again.
