The start of something new!

I feel it's time to start blogging about this amazing adventure I am currently going through.......pregnancy!

On the morning of Saturday the 30th of August 2014 our lives were about to change for the long haul as we got the best news we could have hoped for, two pink lines!

Waiting 3 minutes feels like a lifetime when your patiently waiting for that second line to appear and when you see it so many emotions go through your body at once!

So thus starts the next chapter in our lives, becoming parents!

My Birthday Trip to London

On September 26th 2014 I turned 26, that makes me feel rather old writing it down. Me and Hubby went to London for day to celebrate and the day was fantastic!

For months I had been trying to get myself booked into Lady Dinah's Cat Cafe in Shoreditch, London. In July I finally managed to snag myself a booking on my actual birthday so knew that was at least one of the plans made for the day! I was so excited I think I must have bored everyone talking about it so much! But who doesn't want to eat cake and play with cats all day!

On the day I had an early afternoon booking, we turned up 15 minutes prior and was escorted into the cafe itself and was told to choose a table and we would then get seved from there. The cafe has two floors which are packed with cat toys, levels, climbing frames for the cats and boxes of toys that the patrons can use to play with the cats.
We found a table on the lower level which seemed like a bigger area and sat down and took everything in!
We ordered tea and scones for two and whilst we waited for the order I took the opportunity to go and explore and meet the cats and take some photos.

The cats are all so friendly and beautiful. Having the chance to sit there and get to know all of the cats who all display their own personalities was a wonderful experience. We stayed for allocated time of 2 hours and then left to allow other patrons to take their booking. If anyone has been looking at going I would highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed!

After we left Lady Dinah's we then ventured all the way over to Kings Cross Station. Why you ask? So that I could also finally go to Platform 9 & 3/4. Being a massive potterhead I had been wanting to visit here for a while but the opportunity never presented itself. I was literally bursting with excitement when we got there! Now it's not much but for a potterhead it's everything! I made my way to the queue to have my photo taken at the barrier that has a luggage trolley and hedgewig sticking out the wall. You get to choose what scarf you would like to wear and I chose Gryffindor despite being a Ravenclaw at heart I felt it had to be done!
You have the option to buy the photos that they take for you in the little Platform 9 & 3/4 shop which is filled with lots of Harry Potter souvenirs. I of course had to purchase my photo which is now displayed in my geek cabinet along with all my other memorabilia I have collected!

I also got myself a little Hogwarts Pin Badge which is on my desk at work!
If your ever at Kings Cross Station, Potterhead or not it's worth a little look 😁⚡️

Our First Wedding Anniversary

It seems like yesterday I got to marry my husband but somehow we've managed to time travel a whole year and we've ended up at our very first wedding anniversary in May 31st 2014. Here are a few pictures of our day!

For a while we contemplated what do and where to go but settled on a weekend away to the City of Bath, Somerset. We splashed out a little and stayed at a gorgeous Grade II listed country house called Bailbrook House Hotel which is located a short drive out of the the centre of bath.

Whilst away we managed to pack in quite a bit on our stay. Both days we ventured into the city centre from the hotel where we managed to walk around for hours catching the sites and taking in the historic setting. We walked around the stunning Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths and the Royal Crescent.

We found a lovely botanical garden on our second day which we took our time exploring and the area around it. On our last day I had booked me and hubby for afternoon tea at the hotel we stayed at before we headed home. It was so beautiful eating our sandwiches and scones whilst looking over the wonderful grounds of the hotel it was rather picturesque.

I can't recommend the hotel enough, the service was great and we had a lovely card and box of chocolates waiting for us in our room to say Happy Anniversary from the hotel which was a lovely touch. The first night we stayed there we had a letter under the door inviting us to a private dining breakfast the next day as a treat from them rather than having breakfast in the communal area. We both had no idea what to expect but the next day we went down the private dining room where we had our own table service and a huge menu where we could have anything and everything we wanted from fruits and yogurts to pancakes to a full English fry up. We felt very spoilt and lucky to have been treated so amazingly. It was a wonderful weekend to spend with my husband celebrating our first year of marriage, here's to many more! ❤️
